I make images that are at once familiar and yet, at the same time, resistant to why they are so familiar. They convey an impression of an old, long forgotten place or thing held dear and then found again, a rediscovery of an old friend or story. Texture and light are absolutes in a world where time has removed some information and added new and strange information. Aged by neglect or from constant use some images seem to have a codex or ancient language, others appear like building blocks of primitive life forms, molecular complexity and yet the possibility for a very simple, elegant gesture.

I look to the variety of life and experience in all its’ forms from the smallest fragment to the most universal for inspiration and yet am always as impressed with the information that remains hidden, just below the surface, as well as that which seems most apparent.
