Roundtable discussion: Thursday, 21 May @ 7p
galleryELL’s John Ros will be participating in an upcoming round-table discussion as part of amaCollective’s first collaborative Web Installation, PIL(Post-Internet Landscapes), about Contemporeality (the interaction between the virtual and physical).
—
amaCollective present their first collaborative Web Installation, namely Post-Internet Landscapes (PIL), on the online platform agorama. PIL, devised by artists Juan Crespo Corella and Enrique Tutor Torres, is the first in a series of exhibitions exploring the notion of Dialogue between the online and the offline. Its purpose is to investigate the potential of meme and .gif formats as a material for artistic and cultural discourse. Taking the form of a virtual institution, PIL shapes a collection with methods based on online archiving and contemporary collecting, while providing a space for new media based artists to interact and display works of art, in .gif formats.
On Thursday the 21st of May the contemporeal exhibition will open to the public. From 7pm there will be a talk and further discussion from PIL creators Juan Crespo Corella and Enrique Tutor Torres and artist John Ros, founder of galleryELL, about Contemporeality (the interaction between the virtual and physical), through alternative platforms that utilise, simultaneously, both the physical realm and internet for their activities.
Turbine Hall of Central House, Cass Faculty of Art, 59-63 Whitechapel High Street, London E1 7PF
