Author: aleks bartosik

artist I am a visual artist currently working from my studio in Toronto, Ontario, CANADA. I work figuratively and most often large-scale, where I combine drawing elements with painting, performance and installation, and film/video. I explore the boundaries between the real and the imaginary and investigate one’s ability and willingness to imagine, pretend, dream and suspend disbelief.

Students will explore depictions of the human figure in the AGO collections, while also developing their own painting skills in acrylic or oil. Studies and exercises using life models are designed to effectively enhance the portrayal of the three-dimensional form through value, tone, colour theory and painting technique. Previous experience in life drawing and still-life painting is recommended for this class.
